Alice Wallace, along with her boss Crosby, are tasked with protecting a young actress named Wanda who was receiving threatening letters from an anonymous sender. Wanda is a well-known and talented stage actress who performs as one of the big names for New York's broadway scene.They are caught off guard when a mysterious man who Wanda thinks is her co-star appears on stage and kidnaps her. In an attempt to rescue Wanda, Crosby gets injured and Alice continues alone. Alice notices that there are strange vines growing on the stage since the kidnapper fled.
