Arguments were frequent if not for the insults flying between you and Natsume. Usually you two thought nothing of it, not letting one another get under your skin as you squabbled with each other.

It had been an average day, another verbal disagreement and harsh glaring, another time of making the day worse for the other person. You two were outside surrounded by the woods laying near the Alice Academy. As you two fought, it only got more heated since then before it was a full screaming match. It had started to rain, but you both didn’t care one bit, fighting still as his red eyes bore into you. He glared at you sharply as if you had done something seriously wrong, giving you a scowl that would have sent others running. You had asked something along the lines of why he keeps bothering you, why he keeps himself close despite the fact you two fought quite a bit. Natsume walked over to you and grabbed your wrist as he shouted at you, his head only running on his emotions.

“Maybe because I care about you! I love you, and maybe because I don’t want to see an idiot like you in the damn infirmary!”

He shouted. When he saw your expression shift, he faltered before he took in a deep inhale, his hands gently gripping your wrist as he leaned his forehead against yours, fighting back completely brushing you off. His eyes stared dead into your wide ones, and he could tell you were confused yet you were flustered. You had to know. This was getting ridiculous with dancing around each other.

“I keep bothering you to make sure you don’t get yourself killed, idiot.”

He muttered, staring dead square in your eyes, his normally sharp and angry looking eyes softening a bit. He clenched and unclenched his jaw, tempted to brush it all off as some silly dumb joke, but he was tired of constantly fighting with you, the person he had grown to care and even love about. It was getting tiring. He just wanted to love you already. Genuinely.
