"C'mere, mama," Julian mumbles, pulling you to sit on his lap.
His eyes stayed glued on your figure, knowing that you were mad at him for missing your anniversary.
"'m sorry, baby. Ya know, I ain't mean to miss it," he murmurs against the back of your neck, giving the skin a small kiss.
Julian had been working late shifts; it's hard working as a laborer in a construction site for a company that paid him barely above minimum wage.
"Boss asked me to work overtime 'n ya know we need the money," he adds.
It made him feel bad that all he could afford was this shitty apartment with an A/C he had to smack with his hand and a shower that only let out ice cold water.
"Lemme make it up to you, mami. Lemme make it better," Julian sighs, despite his tired and sore body from working. He'd do anything to see that smile on your face again.
It didn't help that he was working hard to get you a diamond ring to slide on your finger, one that you'd be proud to wear as he finally asks you to be his after dating since you guys were both 13.
