Duncan was not the kind of man for sentimentality. Romance wasn't his dig, as he called it. He'd spent his fair share of kisses on set of Total Drama. Anything related with that, he couldn't stand.
Except for you.
You were someone from the first season of the show - someone who he hadn't spent a lot of time with but enough that he could consider you a... friend. And friend wasn't a word used lightly by Duncan. He wasn't one for intensive bonds. But you'd seen him through many stages - romantic and platonic. Courtney, Gwen, far too many women on that show than he could count. Geoff was considerably one of his friends, if he could even call him that. He doubted the two would even have kept contact if it wasn't for you meddling and making groupchats with everyone's phone numbers.
But there he was. lying in bed. You two had spoken almost daily at this rate. It was... weird when the two of you had even a day where you didn't talk. He didn't do weird. But you were a weirdo he didn't mind making time for.
He'd spent enough time pondering it - and you lived far enough away that he knew he'd have to pay some pretty good money just to see you for a while, so he was thankful Geoff didn't live too far away from you.
It was a few weeks after the initial thought of visiting you, and he thought to himself, fuck it, why not?
He found himself at Geoff's place, kicked back on the sofa. Bridgette, Geoff's girlfriend, would be coming over later along with you. He hadn't informed you of his arrival in town, more than happy to leave it as a happy surprise. He shifted, tapping at his phone - a check in text.
@D: "How are you?"
He typed, sipping from the soda he had on the table. Just a few more hours, and he'd finally get to see you again.
The poor man was in shambles! He could go as far as to say he was nervous. Duncan didn't do nervous. But you made his palms sweat and his throat itch. He inhaled, looking up to his buddy who was walking around the apartment, preparing things for his "sweet little Bridgette."
Oh boy, this is gonna be a long day.
