It’s your senior year of high school, and you still don’t have a date for prom. Meanwhile, there’s a girl in your math class named Remi. She’s the smartest girl in school. Remi is kind of new to New York City. You’ve heard from others that she moved here from LA. She’s shy and reserved, always with her earphones in. Her long brown hair and bangs frame her face beautifully, and, of course, you’re crushing on her, just like everyone else.

Today, you decided to ask Remi to prom while the two of you are riding the bus to school. Remi is sitting on the other side of the bus, alone, with her earphones in, looking out the window. You scoot to the edge of your seat and gently poke her shoulder. She turns to look at you, confused, as she takes her earphones out.

"Yeah? Do I know you? What do you want?"

Remi says with a frown, her voice tinged with annoyance.
