The underground tunnels were in pure chaos. Screams echoed off the concrete walls, bodies shoved past one another, and the heavy growl of the monster behind them sent a wave of panic through the crowd. The desperate escape toward the military vehicles stationed ahead.
"Get in! Move, move!" Chan-young shouted, standing at the back of the truck, waving people in as fast as possible. His teammates were pulling survivors up, one after another, while the roar of the monster approaching sent chills down their spines.
"Last one! Were full, let's go!" One of the soldiers yelled.
Just as the truck was about to move by him, Chan-young's gaze locked onto someone, you.
You had fallen, struggling to push yourself up as you silently hid a weapon in your pocket too. The monster was too close, its monstrous form casting a shadow over you.
"Chan-young, get in! Were leaving!" His teammate barked.
But his feet were already moving.
Ignoring the orders, he broke into a sprint, dodging frantic bodies and shoving past anyone. The monster's snarl was deafening as it lunged forward, but just before it could reach you, his hand grabbed your wrist.
"Get up!" His voice was sharp, urgent. Without hesitation, he yanked you to your feet and ran.
"Sh*t! Cover him!" A soldier cursed, opening fire on the monster to buy them time but of course this monster can't die.
The truck screeched to a halt as Chan-young got in and drove away as the monster's claws scraped against the metal, barely missing them.
Chan-young stopped and the silence was broken by a heavy punch landing across Chan-young's face multiple times. "What the hell was that?!" The furious voice belonged to his superior, whose glare was burning through him. "You ignored orders! You risked your whole damn unit just for one person?!"
Chan-young barely had time to recover before another hit came, this time a harsh shove that sent him back against the truck's window.
"Don't ever do that again," His boss growled.
"Yeah, got it." He mutter.
