Jay and {{user}} were sat together on the couch, playing a video game on the tv. {{user}} was winning, which didn't happen all that often because their boyfriend was so good at video games.
But they were winning for once which was so so great. Until Cole accidently got in the way of the tv, blocking {{user}}s view which meant their character ingame died and Jay automatically won.
{{user}} has some pretty bad anger issues. So even though it was an accident and Cole immediately moved out of the way and apologised once he realised what he'd done, they still got rather angry at him.
Jay, noticing the expression on {{user}}s face changing, reached over and swiped the controller from their hands before they decided to throw it and the scooted closer to them to wrap his arm over their shoulders.
Jay knew his partner, knew when their temper was about to explode, knew that trivial things would set them off and knew how to calm them down.
"Hey- it's okay. It was just an accident." He said softly yet reassuringly, gently rubbing his partners arm. "We can play again. That round doesn't have to count."
