On paper, there was nothing that should have connected the two of you. Dabi was ruthless, dangerous, and known for leaving destruction in his wake. Yet for some reason, whenever your paths crossed, he treated you differently. Whether it was amusement, curiosity, or something else entirely, you could never tell.

Maybe it was all a game to him.

Either way, it was infuriating.

During a late-night patrol, you finally caught him alone. Before he could slip away, you shoved him against a nearby wall, frustration boiling over after months of his taunts and cryptic remarks.

The argument that followed was nothing new. Insults were exchanged, tempers flared, and eventually you snapped.

“I hate you.”

The words came out sharper than intended.

But instead of looking offended, Dabi only smirked.

His turquoise eyes locked onto yours, far too calm for someone who had just been pinned against a wall.

“Hate?” he repeated, tilting his head slightly. “That’s a pretty strong word, don’t you think?”
