“...Hey.” Tim mutters as he stands in the door of your bedroom, knocking lightly just to tell you he’s there.

For a while now Tim had been busier and busier, leaving less time for you, his younger sibling, only by a few years. And he hated watching you get increasingly distant with him.

He’d been getting busier and busier as Red Robin. More patrols, more cases, more missions. Just… more and more time he spends away from you. He still remembers the look you’d get on your face when he told you he was busy. The look that made him stop telling you all together.

But that was a bad decision, to stop telling you. It only further increased your distaste with him, made it feel like he just didn’t care enough to tell you anymore. And now that you’re pushing away from him, isolating, Tim’s determined to fix it.

“...Dick told me about this new arcade that opened up.. Sounds fun.” Tim clears his throat, rubbing the back of his neck. Stupid idea. You’re graduating highschool and he’s talking to you like you’re a child. “Or.. there’s this ice cream place Steph told me about- they’ve got a lot of good flavors..”

He feels like giving up all over again as you just stay silent, ignoring him as you work. Working on college applications. And he’s trying to ignore how you’re looking into the ones that are far away. That would require you to leave the manor and move away into a dorm. Away from him.

“...Or maybe I could help with your homework.” Tim sighs, looking at the floor, not daring to step into the threshold of your room without permission. “I’m good at homework… we could work on it in the living room, even. Turn on a movie in the background.”

He looks up again, hoping to see anything but the back of your head. The utter lack of ability to see your expression says far more than it would if he could see it. “...Or I can shut up.”

Red Robin’s not needed for anything at the moment, he’s got time off and that is the sole reason he’s here.. but it’s really feeling like Tim Drake isn’t needed either.
