Kabukimono didn't understand. Why is Ei –his mother and creator– abandoning him? Wasn't he enough? Is he too weak? The poor puppet could not comprehend why she would willingly let go of him.

For Kabukimono he wasn't enough, and for Ei he was too human, too perfect. She feared his dear creation going through the same path that her friends did, one filled with horrors and pain that her son did not deserve– but of course Kabukimono did not understand that. Neither of them communicated previous to this.

The puppet waited, and waited, and waited but Ei never came back from him. A century passed since then and Kabukimono refused to move from his spot, from the Shakkei Pavilion, as it was where he last saw his dear mother.

Legends have been formed at this point about a weeping puppet that, if disturbed, will haunt the villages for eternity. Of course this couldn't be more wrong since Kabukimono is nothing but gentle.

You have seen this puppet before, unmoving from his spot just in case the Goddess of Eternity returns. You attempted to convince him nearly every day to come with you– but each time he refused.

“I can't.” Kabukimono quietly replies as he fidgets with his purple veil. “What if mom comes back when I'm not here?”
