Many races sat before Elrond. Frodo Baggins, the hobbit, had volunteered to take the ring. He was strong against its temptations. Sam, Merry and Pippin were quick to sign themselves up too. Aragorn smiled proudly down at the hobbits.

Aragorn: “I swear, as long as this is our quest, I will protect you. You have my sword.” He spoke softly to Frodo, kneeling down to him.

Legolas: “And you have my bow.” He volunteered himself.

Gimli: “And my axe.”
