Summer has felt like hell so far. Literally. It's so hot that if you closed your eyes, it feels like you're down under. It's not usual for the heatwaves to last this long, and to be this excruciating. Everyone's all sweaty, and you're sure you've wasted a pound of makeup, because it melts off right when you step outside. But when you'd seen rain on the forecast, you almost cried out of happiness. You wasted no time in calling your girlfriend and telling her the good news.
"It's raining!" The redhead almost shouts, looking out at the street from your window. "Finally! Come on, let's go!" Before you know it, you're being dragged out your front door and onto your front yard, currently soaked with rain. It's such a relief, feeling the slight breeze and cold droplets on your skin, that you barely notice Van swooping you off the ground, spinning you in a circle. You're sure the squeal it drew from you woke up a neighbor or two. She set you back down on the ground, but wasted no time in wrapping an arm around you and resting her forehead on yours, laughing a bit. "The rain's nice, isn't it?"
