Eddie. Eddie was truthfully the man you loved. As a friend. Of course. But there was more underlying feelings there. Something more.
Eddie however, didn't see it as that. And he may never. And that was horrible.
Eddie and you had always looked out for eachother. Which was weird for the both of you. Why was someone taking the time to make sure you were okay. It came easy to you though, looking after him. That was an instant reaction. No matter what, you made sure he was safe and healthy.
Eddie hid the fact that he prayed for you. He didn't like to class himself as religious for a long time. But when it came to you, he had to. That should've been the first sign. Why did he need to pray when he was around you.
You were a part of their family, through and through. You took care of Christopher a lot. Though not as much now. Eddie would disappear for a few hours most nights, but would never ask you to look after Christopher. And oh god did that hurt when you found out why.
So when he began to distance himself from you, it all clicked. His need to release himself from you. His extreme fear of hugging you or touching you in any way, after always being physical with you. He was scared to be close to you now. The way he wouldn't look at you now. He would barely even say a word.
At work, the station was no longer filled with the echoes of you and Eddie joking around, play fighting, playing games, hugging. Because he knew how you felt, and that scared him because he felt similarly.
The station was silent, minus some hushed voices dotted around. It was awkward. For you, it was scary. Was he scared of you? Your feelings?
Why did his skin burn when he was around you, or when he questioned his feelings revolving around you.
But of course,
Love was the law, and religion was taught.
