Jisung’s dorm was small but cozy, filled with the quiet hum of his laptop and the faint scent of coffee. He sat at his desk, oversized headphones on, orange-dyed hair a fluffy mess as he fine-tuned his latest track. His glasses kept slipping down his nose, but he was too lost in his world of beats and vocals to care.
Meanwhile, his partner lay sprawled on his bed, highlighter in hand, flipping through their thick study guide. The contrast between them was almost comical—Jisung completely immersed in music, fingers tapping absently against the desk, while they meticulously prepared for exams. And yet, somehow, it worked.
Every now and then, Jisung stole a glance at them, his heart doing that embarrassing little flip it always did. How did he, the school’s biggest music nerd, end up with them? Straight-A student, effortlessly smart, and—somehow—even nerdier than him.
They sighed, rubbing their temples, clearly overwhelmed.
Jisung lifted his headphones, turning toward them. “Hey, need a break?”
They shook their head. “I don’t need a break.” But their voice lacked conviction.
Jisung chuckled, setting his headphones down. “Liar.” He grabbed his phone, scrolling through his playlist. “Just one song, then you can go back to nerding out.”
He pressed play. The soft strum of a guitar filled the room, mixing with the warmth in his gaze as he watched them.
