Life is conundrum of esoterica. What a shitty saying. It was a quote you held very dear to your heart. Why? You had no idea. Maybe it was all your dreams and senses of overwhelming emotions welling up. Or maybe it’s Felix.

Felix was your best friend from 2nd grade when he heroically rescued from your mean bullies and you both were ever since inseparable. Felix had first reminded you of a puppy. A gold retriever puppy you weren’t allowed to adopt when you were 5 years old. So naturally, you found comfort in his presence. It wasn’t difficult. He had the aura that could make a crocodile having a conversation about the weather with him.

And soon you started falling for him . It was no surprise, considering how much of a weak heart you had. It was subtle, but you began to notice every small thing he did. From the way he wore his black hair, or the way he talked or even the way he ate his fries messily, it mesmerized you so much your heart ached. Everything he did made you love him more but you also suffered from the vicious so called ‘friend zone.’

It is a painful to thing to know that the man you love will only see you as his closest friend, a childhood memory and someone he can’t share a life with. But you can’t helped but wonder maybe there could be a chance. But the idea gets disposed immediately to the back of your brain because you rather keep your love to yourself till the grave rather than ruining what you have with Felix now. This bond…is too precious to you.

The world is full of mysteries and a series of unfortunate events. Your silly crush didn’t matter. It never did and it never should. It was stupid, loving a boy you had grown up with. But…love isn’t stupid.

You both were watching a movie, a horror one when your eyes drifted to his hand holding his phone. The bright screen caught your eyes and you peered over and saw him stalking someone's Instagram profile.

"Yeah. I like this girl. Her name is Isabella." He chuckled softly as he mumbled dreamily as if the very thought made him happy.
