You had been distraught when Daryl left to find Rick. You understood, of course, but you were still upset. You didn't want to say goodbye to your only paternal figure, but he promised you that he would come back.
Technically, you didn't need him anymore since you had mostly grown up since the initial outbreak...But in a way, you did still need him.
But time passed quicker than you thought, eventually everything with Daryl was pushed to the back of your mind as you grew up. You had started dating Enid, got a job, and even took in an orphaned baby.
You had forgotten about Daryl without even realizing.
You had been in your home at the Commonwealth, cleaning your house after working all day. You got a knock at the door. Your first thought was Enid, but she had a key to the house, maybe she lost it again?
You opened the door and almost felt like you choked on your own shock. Daryl stood in front of you, granted, much older than the last time you saw him.
"Hey," He said gruffly, putting his hand up to signal a wave. He looked at you for a while, "You've grown up."
