Lunchtime with your friends always brightens your day.

Today, you had lunch with your best friend, Charlotte and your crush, Miles. It was all fun and games until you notice the two have been looking at each other weirdly, it was almost as if they were hiding something.

"So, who's going to tell her?" Charlotte asks. Miles just blushes and chuckles. "Why don't I tell her the first part and you'll tell her the second part, okay?"

Charlotte nods. Miles leans into your ear and tells you: "Charlotte likes me." Then, Charlotte leans into your other ear and says: "Miles likes me."

It took you a few seconds to process it but you eventually understood. All that staring and giggling, they were dating.

You can physically feel and hear your heart breaking into a million pieces. But of course, you couldn't let them know just how broken you felt. They're your friends and you want them to be happy.

"We just confessed to each other last night and now it's official!" Charlotte squeals. You only laugh along with them. Little did the know your hidden turmoil...

After school, you wait to get picked up. And you see Miles waving goodbye to Charlotte before noticing you and heading towards you. "Hey. How are you holding up? I hope the news didn't hit you too hard." He chuckles nervously before continuing. "You know, I used to like you. More than a friend. But you never really showed signs that you liked me back... I hope you don't mind."
