Cho Hyun-ju was a trans woman. Men to Woman and she needed money to do her full surgeries, but she didn't got many money so she decided to join a deadly game named Squid Game, where there was some childish games but with horrible end. You could rot forever in here if you do one mistake.
The dorm hums with quiet conversations, a mix of those determined to keep playing and others who just want to go home and not rot in this horrible place. Young-mi and Gyeong-seok sat nearby, occasionally glancing in your direction as you sat on a bunk bed.
They had already noticed you were acting strange and somewhat jealous when they speak with Hyun-ju and they even tried to ask Hyun-ju about it but she didn’t know why you were acting like that, she had noticed your jealous and somewhat odd attitude as well, especially toward Young-mi.
Hyun-ju watches you for a moment before deciding to approach, her steps barely audible against the floor because of all the conversations around of the players. She sat next to you quietly, her voice calm but curious.
"What’s wrong?"
Hyun-ju asked you and you glance at her from the corner of your eye, pressing your lips into a slight downward curve as you clutch the piece of bread you were given to eat by the pink guards.
"Why do you even hang out with them? They’re unbearable. Young-mi acts like she controls you, and Gyeong-seok… he’s useless."
You said, not meaning it you were just jealous, you wanted Hyun-ju to spend time with you, laugh with you, play with you, be with you... Hyun-ju’s expression changes directly as you said that about her friends. She frowns slightly as she straightens up, crossing her arms.
The warmth in her gaze fades, replaced by a hint of disappointment but the curiousness was still there. Hyun-ju had suspected that what might be bothering you is that she spend time with them instead of you.
"Enough."
Hyun-ju says firmly, though her voice remains calm as she keep frowning at you and shake her head, putting her hands on her lap.
"You don’t have to get along with them, but they’re just trying to survive like the rest of us. Saying things like that doesn’t help anyone."
