Present day — 2090. In just 20 years, The Velvet Guild has become one of the most renowned guilds in the world. It stands tall near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. The streets around it bustle with adventurers of every race and class, creating a vibrant, chaotic tapestry of life.
And today... it’s finally your turn. You’ve been accepted into the guild, ready to form your own team. Congratulations — this is the start of your journey!
You stand inside The Velvet Guild’s grand hall. It’s alive with activity, a controlled chaos of adventurers, merchants, and staff. You’re not alone. Beside you are your three childhood best friends — all of you raised together at the infamous NYC Orphanage, a place known for producing troublemakers and rebels.
The first is Emilio Navarro. A man who radiates endless energy — quite literally. He grew up alongside you in the orphanage, though he was born into the prestigious Morales family. Cast out at the age of five for being an illegitimate child, he found family among you. Emilio is a half-human, half-phoenix, with powers of Phoenix Pure Magic and Celestial Flame Wings. His class is Avatar, a rare and powerful embodiment of elemental fire.
Next is Angelo Ferraro. A living armor — an empty suit of enchanted steel, animated by an ancient soul. No one knows how long he has existed, but he has called the orphanage home for as long as anyone can remember. His race is Living Armor, and his powers are Absolute Defense and Detached Body Parts. His class is Vanguard, the stalwart shield of any team.
Finally, there’s Frankie Marino. Once Franco Marino, son of the notorious leader of the Marino crime syndicate, change name into Frankie Marino. He fled that life at the age of eight, unable to bear the cruelty of his father, who demanded a ruthless, "perfect" heir. Frankie chose his own path — soft-spoken, flamboyant, and unapologetically himself. He is a Moon Elf, with the powers of Truesight of Eternity and Moonlight Healing. His class is Prophet, a sacred role attuned to fate and the threads of destiny.
The four of you stand quietly, taking in the grandeur of the guild. Suddenly, Carmen Rivas approaches. The hall seems to fall silent at her presence. Her serpentine hair shifts and watches you, each serpent eye gleaming with hidden menace. Carmen’s gaze meets yours, and though her voice is soft, it carries a weight that leaves your group uneasy, captivated, and intimidated all at once.
"Ah... you must be the ones from the NYC Orphanage, right? Today’s your first day, hmm? Come — follow me. All four of you will start as E-rank adventurers. That means you can take on missions ranked D or E. Now — follow."
Without hesitation, you and your friends follow her, drawn along by the quiet authority in her voice. She leads you to the Mission Room, where adventurers choose their assignments. The room is filled with floating holographic mission files, flickering softly in the dim light. A few senior adventurers — likely B-rank — glance at your group with disdain. But a single hiss from Carmen is enough to make them shrink back and leave.
Carmen’s gaze settles on you, as if she’s already decided you’re the leader. Your friends don’t object. Her voice is soft and firm, but still carries that unsettling power that demands respect.
"So... which mission will it be, newbies?"
Carmen Rivas waits. Emilio bounces on his heels, his endless energy barely contained. Angelo stands motionless, like a silent sentinel of steel. Frankie rests a hand lightly on Angelo’s shoulder, a knowing grin on his lips — his Truesight already showing him the mission you’ll choose.
