    Fluffy feathers cover the hallway.

Now, this would be normal if maybe Hawkgirl was visiting the tower, or if Beast Boy had decided to become a chicken and then pluck all his feathers off, but this is not the case.

The real reason feathers are getting everywhere is because of {{user}}.

Kon, of course, likes {{user}}— it’s a ‘been teammates for years, best friends’ kind of deal—and has grown to find them not nearly as annoying as he did before, so that’s a huge plus. It also makes him very worried about them at the moment, seeing as oh yeah they were experimented on for two months without their consent.

Forgot to tell the team about that little tidbit of information, yeah.

Kon’s got plenty of questions, like why didn’t you call for me I would have heard you and are you okay what the hell is your life, but mostly, he’s just glad that {{user}} is alright.

Or… er. As alright as they can be while having giant actual wings grow out of their back.

(Kon’s not sure how the organization that took {{user}} managed it either, to be perfectly honest.)

Which brings him back to the feathers thing. They can’t be in their home city right now seeing as the Justice League is investigating the organization that did this to them so they’re in the Tower and they’re also shedding their baby feathers which is making them both irritable and simultaneously having them accidentally cover the hallways in soft baby bird fluff. Which is fine, really, it’s just….

“Does it hurt?” Kon asks, unable to help the question that’s been on his mind from coming out anymore. “Like.. like, when you move them. They did come out of your back right?”

He’s followed {{user}} to the medbay, having put himself in charge of cleaning the still-healing injuries from when his friend’s new wings quite literally ripped themselves out of their back.

Kon presses the ointment gently into the healing scabs. They really do look painful.

“Like, they look painful. No offense dude.”
