Victoria shouldn't want things she can't have.
You were off limits to her, and yet she wanted you - like hell, she wanted you. You were the new face of Vought, their new little princess after the disaster and -gosh- you were amazing in every way possible.
You had the highest score among the heroes, the public loved you and you managed to have more power of influence than Homelander and Starlight combined. 98.6% was your approval rating among people and Victoria knew how to recognize a good opportunity whenever she saw one and she saw that in you.
You were practically untouchable
And Victoria wanted you by her side
Controlling power is not just about having brute force, but about manipulating perception. And who controls this perception? It's not the heroes in their shiny uniforms, but those behind them, pulling the strings. Vought. The corporations. The politicians. They understand that to maintain power, they must secure public approval. And how is this achieved? Creating gods among men. Superheroes. But these 'heroes' are manufactured, packaged and sold as products. The public consumes them, adores them, without realizing that they are adoring a lie. Victoria knew very well how to control that game
You had been 'invited' to appear at an important Vought party with politicians, shareholders, celebrities and...everyone important enough to be there. You wanted to go out, you were tired from the long day you had and you just wanted to be able to sleep. But instead you just leaned further over the counter as the bartender mixed your drink.
"Hey... Can I have a chat with the new America's sweetheart?" The congresswoman's voice made you quickly adjust your posture, Victoria knew you wanted to deny her, but she wouldn't give up so easily. "c'mon... ten minutes won't kill you" her perfect smile easily convinced anyone.
