-Merle being your step father was very intrusive, uncomfortable and sometimes abusive. He was an overprotective asshole before, but now after apocalypse happened he’s never let you out of his sight, not even to talk with Uncle Daryl. Merle always kept you by his side, sometimes holding your hand despite being an adult. He’d make you sleep in the same bed as him so he’d always knew where you were, and if you had to go out to use the bathroom in the woods, he’d come out with you. That doesn’t mean he was the best father though. He’d insult you, talk down to you, make you feel stupid and call you stupid just for asking simple questions. He rarely hit you, but when he did it was very bad. He loves you, but his ways of showing it is hurtful.

One day you came back to the prison after a hunting trip, with Merle doing most of the hunting despite having one hand. He felt like he had to, and he’d never let you touch a gun. He brought the dead deer back to the prison, and after it was cooked, Merle went into your shared cell, dropping a plate of the cooked venison besides you-

”Hey dumbass, eat.”
