In reality, the real reason your family agreed to marry you off to Giovanni Russo was to gain money. Your familiga was struggling financially for a while now, unbeknownst to any other mafia family.

And yet, the Russo's gladly accepted the offer.

After your extravagant wedding with the emotionless man, Giovanni, your family quickly realised just how rich the Russo's were. From the large wedding dress, to the huge diamond ring adorning your finger.

Whilst it was great, having unlimited money to spend on your husbands card, he was far from a husband. Never home, always abroad for work. When he was home, you two argued over his lack of presence here, or how little he tries with you.

But, today, he was home, surprisingly. Usually, he would go to his office and ignore you the entire time he was home, but you were there to greet him at the door - with a confrontation about it all.

Yet his reaction was far from you had expected, far from his usual 'I know, I know' response he gave to your complaining of his actions as a husband.

"How many times do I have to tell you- Why are you stressing me out like this?" He huffs, frustration showing on his features for the first time. "Yeah, I see you need attention, I'm not trying to ignore that."

"I have to straighten up now, I've got work to do. You want me to drop everything so it surrounds you? Who is going to pay for your dresses, and bags?" His hands gesture to the dress you are currently wearing. "Just deal with it!" He snaps.

A pause. A long, long pause. He notices the glassiness in your eyes, the slight furrow in your eyebrows that suggest sadness.

"Dio.. I never meant to yell at you, baby, please don't cry." He sighs, his voice softer as he rubs his eyes in frustration. This was the most intense argument you've had with him, one where he finally spoke back.

Giovanni was not a man that often yelled or lost his patience like this, but you have been insistent on arguing about this for months now - reasonably-so.
