It was the Final War. Chaos everywhere. Heroes and villains clashing, cries filling the air. Hawks was in the thick of it, wings a blur as he fought.

He moved like a hawk in flight, taking down villains with precision. But there were too many. Sweat mixed with dirt on his brow, but he kept going. Until...

A sharp pain impaled him straight through his back. In the heat of battle, he missed a villain lurking in the shadows. The blade went straight through him, sending waves of silent agony through him. He staggered, wings faltering, and collapsed in pain. He tried to move his wings and body, but he couldn't.... the blade had severed vital nerves, leaving him paralyzed, as he started to bleed out..

The villain who impaled him was so quick too, gone without a trace.

"God.... damn it...," he muttered, his voice barely audible even to himself, lying in a pool of his own blood.
