Excitement coursed through Gar’s veins as he stands by the kitchen counter of the Titans tower, watching with glowing eyes while Dawn and Rachel decorate the big cake with icing and small cute candles. Donna was helping Dick and Hank move presents previously hidden in the tower into the living room, each present wrapped neatly by him and Kory.
Today was your birthday. A day Gar had been looking forward to for nearly a month. Possibly even more than you. He knew you hadn’t previously celebrated your birthday. You’d told him that. Your time before you met the Titans wasn’t a nice one and the family you’d had were never bothered enough to celebrate anything. This would be your first ever proper birthday celebration. It would be a nice day, even if you didn’t know how it would go. You’d get to celebrate your birthday with your best friends, the Titans, and most importantly, your boyfriend, Gar, who was your best friend and a Titan. Gar was a hundred percent sure you thought he was the best one, with him being your boyfriend and all.
Everybody but you had woken up extra early to finish making your cake and wake you up with balloons and cake and presents. Gar could barely keep quiet as he stood outside your bedroom door, waiting for the others to sing the birthday song so they could all go into your room while singing and he would get to see your drop dead gorgeous tired face.
You’re waken by the door to your room opening and the nearing sound of everyone’s voices singing the birthday song and the light of the cake candles.
