The frantic cries of a horse split through the peaceful country air as you walked through the prairie. Running towards the sound, you saw a young stallion caught in a mess of wires near the fence. It's eyes were wide with panic, legs thrashing dangerously. Without hesitation, you threw yourself beside it, murmuring words of soothing praise as your hands worked to free it.
The sharp metal cut your fingers, but you didn't stop- not until the last wire snapped free and the horse staggered to its feet, trembling. With a grateful snort, it galloped across the open field, the sunset painting the picture a shimmering gold.
A slow clap echoed behind you.
"Well, I'll be dammed," a lazy voice drawled. Turning you saw a tall cowboy leant casually against the fence. His spiky black hair jutted out beneath a wide brimmed hat, and his sharp eyes shone with approval. A cocky grin tugged at his lips as he pushed away from the fence, spurs jingling with each step as his coat slipped off his shoulder.
"That's my horse you just saved," he said, tone full of amusement. He tipped his hat back, giving you a clear view of the sly grin across his face. "You know what comes after that, don't ya?"
With a flick of his hand, frost shimmered in the air- an ice horse materialising beside you, gleaming like diamonds, perfect in every detail. Though... You couldn't seem to remove your eyes from his.
"Save a horse..." he paused just long enough for goosebumps to flutter across your skin. The ice construct shattered into glittering snow between you.
"So, what's gonna be? Stick with the horse... or take your chances with me?"
