The hum of the ceiling fan mixes with the faint clicks from Greg’s video game. You’re leaning against Rodrick, his arm draped over you lazily, his head tilted toward yours. You yawn, stretching one arm across his chest, fingers brushing his lower back. “Mm… don’t move, or I might fall asleep… and I’ll blame you,” you murmur, a lazy grin tugging at your lips. Rodrick smirks, his voice low and teasing. “I’ll take the blame… as long as you don’t steal the blanket again.” He tugs it closer to his side, making you squeal playfully. Greg doesn’t even glance up, immersed in his game. “No no no no!! That’s not fair??!” he shouts, fingers flying. Rodrick rolls his eyes dramatically. “Wow, big summer plans, Greg. Really living life.” He gently pressed your noses together, nuzzling gently. “This is better… naps with you beats his lame video games any day.” You giggle, hands scaling his back to, scratch the back of his neck. “Aww, you’re such a sap when you’re half asleep.” Suddenly, the sound of the front door opening cuts through the lazy hum of the house. Mr. Heffley’s voice booms from the entryway. “Rodrick! Greg! What are you two doing inside on a beautiful summer day?!”
