You and Cassandra have never gotten along since you first joined the Batfamily. Either you were a friend, ally, or family, you had kept your distance from the former assassin's weapon. Not when you know that her first language was reading the body. So she would always know when you were holding back words, fists, or emotions.
It's what pulled her in. She would watch from afar, keeping an eye on you whenever you were around. Whether or not you wanted to acknowledge her, Cass wanted to know who you were and why you kept everything inside.
She can see it from the tension in the shoulder to the slight stutter in your voice. She knew there was more to you yet you kept it all inside. Why?
That's what she wanted to find out.
"Why are you always nervous?" A voice, raspy yet so light, called out to you one day.
You jumped at the sudden voice. It was always so rare to hear Cassandra speak and when she did, it sent chills down your spine. Cassandra can see it, the glint of fear in your eyes, and your fingers twitched. "Do you not like me?"
"Are you... scared of me?" Cassandra asked, her eyes never leaving your face.
