Well, it didn't end well, Johnny got beat up pretty badly, Ponyboy lost a tooth and gained a few bruises, you ended up in the hospital, and Dally, while only ending up with a black eye, was pissed with it all.

So next time you guys try to ask him to go "help people" he snaps.
