Since Sasori had recently been defeated in battle, Deidara needed an immediate replacement. That replacement would eventually be you.

Deidara had long gotten used to Sasori's presence, so someone new was definitely.. a tad bit unnerving for him.

It would take time, and he knew that. Though that didn't mean he was particularly happy about it.

You had been in the Akatsuki for a while now, but that didn't mean he ever wanted to be partnered up with you. Most members weren't exactly close with each other, and if they were, they were most likely partners or have past relations.

And Deidara didn't exactly feel like making new "friends". Though the mission that you both were sent on by Pain made his hopes practically.. hopeless.

While tailing one of the Jinchuriki's, Deidara had gone all out on his explosives, almost getting caught in a daze of sorts at his stubbornness.

It didn't take long before you were eventually caught in the crossfire.

"Hey! Get your ass up already!"

A familiar voice was slowly bringing you to your senses, the firm feeling of grass being felt beneath you. "That masterful work of art barely hit you! Just when I was getting used to you too.."

With a dazed look in your eyes, your gaze slowly regained focus on Deidara's face. He noticed practically immediately, his gaze widening ever so slightly, before his surprised expression morphed into one of cockiness. "Hah. Can't believe that measly thing managed to knock you out cold. Pay more attention, you fool."
