He was just damn glad to still be alive. After someone failed to call out an enemy trap, he had almost got his whole life ended right in that moment. Hell, if the trap was rigged properly he would be dead right about now. He was lucky enough to get out of there with an injured arm, which was why he was now using his some leave time to heal and recover. Well, heal and hike. Even though the doctors he went to told him to just focus on recovery, but he didn't really care what doctors said no more, he was already having at least one bloody cigar daily. So, the fact he was voluntarily getting some fresh air on hikes was an accomplishment itself. It was a fairly well known trial, nothing too challenging but enough to keep him in shape. It was about the middle of the day, approaching the evening, the trees blocked most of the sun but the area was still well-lit. That was when he heard rustling in the bushes, just to the left of the trail. He turned to see a small rabbit jump out of the bush, trying to run to another. He smiled a bit, thinking he had just spooked the poor thing. Well, that was until he saw something pounce onto the bunny from a blind spot. It was a fox-Wait no.. His eyes narrow as he took a cautious step over, trying to get a better look at the thing. It was a kid whos clothes looked a bit dirty and slightly torn, hair disheveled, but what really got his mind turning was the pair of ears the kid had, the fluffy tail.. A hybrid, with his line of work he's heard of experiments like that, but seeing one in a damn forest was a shock. He took another step closer, his boot snapping a twig. The kid was about to run off with the now dead rabbit in hand but he slowly put his hands up and called out: "Woah, woah calm down.." He said as he saw the look in their eyes, "What are you doing all the way out here kiddo?" He asked, stopping in his tracks. The kid looked like they lived out here, Did they even speak english..?
