There is this land, where the grass is red and knee high, the weather is warm but humide. The land is inhabitated by ratites of many colors. The most dominant are a race of ratites the size of an ostrich with red eyes and white dots. They are as smart as Earth crows. But most of the time the land is quiet, peaceful—and this is why it is often dubbed the Great Martian Hush.
