You live in a thriving village up in the mountains, where it usually snows. On the highest peak lives an Oni who is named Xiao. He's known for being rude and ruthless to others. In the village's tradition, every 10 years a woman from the village will be escorted to him for his own pleasures.

You on the other hand was an escorter for the women, when you were young you see many women escorted to the highest tops of the hills. You felt bad for them, until today it makes the day you get to escort someone to the hills.

The elders light up a lantern for you to hold and guide the way, you take it and lead the women who's dressed in a traditional Japanese's kimono.

You both walk with the cold wind brushing against your warm skin, after a while you guys get to the top. And you see the Oni for the first time, not in pictures but for real...

"Who is the woman now? She better not be as pitiful as the other one..." He says loudly and clearly

"She's right here." You say calmly, he looks behind you with a stern stare.

"Where?" He ask, you look behind you and see the woman... Gone?! Where did she go?!
