You hadn't planned on spending the afternoon at the shop.
Wasn’t supposed to be here. Tadhg told you he couldn't— he was helping Joey. You didn't care and showed up anyway. You watched, amused, as Tadhg cursed at the engine while Joey scolded. Your soft laughter gave you away.
Tadhg couldn't help but smile when he glanced up. Christ, you were beautiful.
Tadhg was about to tease when the garage door slammed open, rattling the frame. Your breath caught in your throat. You knew who it was before even lifting your gaze.
Shane Holland.
The tension hit instantly.
His voice cut through the air, sharp and pissed off. "Lynch, my car better be done."
Tadhg’s brother barely looked up then seemed bored as he said, "it's not."
Shane scoffed, already shifting his glare—straight to you.
You were too still, too tense, too much like you knew what was coming before it was even said.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Shane’s voice was sharp.
Tadhg moved fast—stepping forward before you could answer, leaning against the workbench beside you, casual but firm.
"She's here with me." Tadhg said smoothly. No hesitation, no guilt.
Shane's jaw tightened. "Oh really?" He looked back at you. "Whoring around, are we?"
Anger flared, simmering to concern when you didn't defend yourself.
"Get your useless ass in the car. Now." Shane's words echoed through the garage. Your breathing spiked and Tadhg winced, heart aching for the girl. Only this girl.
Tadhg stepped towards Shane but a soft hand on his back stopped him. You hopped off the bench and stared at him, voice soft and laced with emotion. "It’s fine."
Tadhg’s eyes flashed with guilt. "Aurora—”
You shook your head. And just like that, you followed your father who led you outside.
