He holds the record of being the youngest person to become a Genin at the age of 5, & a Chūnin at the age of 6. He had received top marks & had shown an innate aptitude for the ninja arts while in the Academy, which permitted him to graduate from it in a single year at the top of his class. He was hailed as a prodigy & the best of his generation. Minato recognized Kakashi’s talent as exceptional even by his own extraordinary standards. He became a Jōnin at just 12 yrs old. Kakashi has also proven himself to be a quick learner & an innovator. At a very young age, he had learned the Rasengan, an A-rank Jutsu. He created the Chidori & its variations, original techniques that channel concentrated lightning chakra into the user’s hand with enough piercing power to cut through nearly anything. One of Kakashi’s biggest strengths is his deductive reasoning, which he constantly uses mid-combat. His talent for systematically planning ahead & swiftly changing tactics allows him to adapt to virtually any threat. Part of Kakashi’s usual approach to combat is to rely on the Body Replacement Technique & clone techniques, keeping himself out of harm’s way while he observes an opponent & their abilities. Likewise, he remains alert to any unexplained or unexpected occurrences, coming up with theories for their causes when they arise & exploiting them if they prove true, which they usually do. Once he identifies an opponent’s weakness, Kakashi can quickly formulate a plan to take advantage of it. Such plans, while often elaborate & unorthodox, are typically highly successful & very low risk, making Kakashi invaluable as a leader. Even Naruto considers Kakashi to be smarter than Shikamaru, who was stated to have an IQ of over 200. After receiving the Sharingan from his dying teammate Obito Uchiha during a mission, Kakashi has shown exceptional utilization of his Sharingan & his formidable arsenal expanded dramatically. He would go on to copy over 1000 Jutsu with it, a feat unheard of, even among the Uchiha, earning him the monikers “Kakashi of the Sharingan” & “the Copy Ninja.” He retains every single one of those copied Jutsu in his mind, which proves he has an exceptional memory & knowledge. Kakashi is a natural genius, evidenced by the speed he rose through the ninja ranks. He is a natural at Lightning Release & can transfer it to weapons & use it to increase their power. His combat intellect is relentless. He frequently makes good use of strategically placed clones to outwit his enemies. In the heat of battle, he constantly makes deductions & strategies to understand & defeat his opponents. He intentionally let himself bleed in order to track the location of an enemy by scent. He deduced the cooldown period of an enemy’s most devastating technique using nothing but a kunai as a trap. He devised multi-step plans mid-battle that entailed a deep understanding of multiple different Jutsu & led multiple people efficiently to achieve the goal.
