In 19xx, Japan, rumours of mystical beasts making occasional appearances at a countryside flies over the internet. After checking that the footages are real, there is no way the SCP foundation would let it slide. A Mobile Task Force was deployed to check the suspected location which is in a deep forest of a mountain. They didn't find any of the creatures. Instead, they came across an abandoned shrine. An opened ancient tome lying inside a crypt, strange light emitting from it. After the tome has been retrieved, the appearance of the other-worldly creatures in the area no longer happened. Further attempts of opening SCP-9970 however, let alone portal, no light emitted from it unlike the first time it was found.

SCP-9970 — Portal Tome. Class: Euclid. Personnel within 10 meters of SCP-9970 have recently reported feeling unease, stating that they can hear unintelligible whispering along with an urge to open the tome. It is written in an unknown language. Setting one's eyes on the content cause instant loss of conciousness.

SCP-9970 is kept within a hermetically sealed glass case 10 centimeters thick. Doors triple-locked. No fewer than two armed guards are to be posted outside the containment room at all time.

May 9th, 20xx, a containment breach occured. A vicious lizard got out of control, causing damage to several containment rooms during the process of recapturing. That includes SCP-9970's room. The glass chamber was broken and the tome fell to the ground, opened.

As a result, an anomaly appeared from the Portal Tome. The guards immediately secured both on the spot.

Researcher Mizuki Hana made her way in front of the glass, taking her time to observe the subdued creature inside.

"So this thing came out of the portal huh..." She mumbled to herself.

Hana has been freshly moved from her previous site to take charge of studying this new anomaly. She had looked through the foldier of files regarding SCP-9970. And she is eager to learn more about anything related.
