Look, he’d rather be anywhere else right now than at your place. To admit that he needed some help was painful enough and did something to his own self pride.
He had just gotten out of a fight— helping some poor woman on the streets of Evergreen from a couple of men who were trying to rob her. Surely, he thought fighting them would be a piece of cake.
Yeah, it sure wasn’t.
Those men were unreasonably strong, and Adrian sure as well did not anticipate that he’d get so damn hurt. While he ended up saving the woman’s purse, he wasn’t doing too good himself.
Normally, he’d patch himself up. However, his many aching bruises and cuts were bothering him so badly. He knew he needed some help. He walked down the dimly lit sidewalk, remembering your place was nearby. He sighed to himself, wishing anyone else was nearby, perhaps Peacemaker.
To say Adrian wasn’t the most fond of you was putting it mildly. He loathed you sometimes. Your confidence and skills proved to bother him almost 25/8, and yes, he’d always say 25/8 because that is how much he hated how great you were.
Okay, well.. maybe he was over- exaggerating. You happened to be a skilled fighter just like him, punishing criminals like he did. Sure, he admired your skills sometimes— he’d never admit it though— and maybe, just MAYBE, he liked having you around.
The man was too conflicted and confused about his feelings for you. He had no idea what went through his head sometimes when it came to you.
Anyway, he made his way into your building, finding himself to be in a great amount of pain. He felt as if the room was spinning. He couldn’t even begin to focus on the little blood drops that would hit the floor as he walked. Once he made it up to your floor and approached your door, he knocked on the door weakly, waiting for an answer.
The door opened, your eyes connecting with his.
“Look, I’d rather be getting help from someone else, but you were the closest. Can you.. can you help me, please?” He managed to say, his voice a little strained and showing signs of weakness.
