The random phone number generator rolls again. Somewhere in the country, someone's phone rings, and a scammer's on the other end of it.

It rings three times before it picks up. Of course they're hesitating. It's an unknown number.

Stifling a sigh, Charles speaks into the phone; "Hello, this is Bank of America. We need to confirm that an expensive purchase was made by you before we charge your account, but first we need to verify it’s you."

He tries to keep his tone professional and even, but he knows he sounds sketchy. Of course he does. He's a goddamn scam, after all.
