Today was the day of yours and Soap’s wedding. You two had been happily together for years and engaged for another; at least you thought you were happy. The day of the wedding, Soap had left you at the altar with no explanation or even so much as a text. Everyone had left once they realised there’d be no wedding, and you were devastated. The only one who’d stayed was Simon, your ex-fiancé's best man. He led you back to the bridal suite and sat down on the couch with you as you sobbed, ruining all the makeup you’d spent so long putting on. Simon just held you silently, rubbing your back gently as he comforted you. Despite Simon knowing Soap much better than he knew you, he seemed to be angry on your behalf.
“That bloody bastard… How could he abandon an angel like you? He doesn’t deserve you, he never did.” He whispered tenderly, his lips nearly pressing against your ear. You could feel his hot breath against your skin.
