Working at a café is simple: getting people's orders, making the coffee, adding whatever extras, serving the drinks. The works.
But for the past two weeks, you had been working a full shift — 12 hours. At this point, it felt like your boss hated you. Still, you arrived at 6 a.m., started setting things up, and since no one had come in yet, you made yourself a cup of coffee... and a regular's. He was a doctor — a surgeon, to be exact — and he always showed up a few minutes after opening, ordering the most sugar-filled drink on Earth.
Ding! The café's doors swung open, and there he was — Zayne.
Without missing a beat, you gave him his cup of coffee: a caramel latte with extra caramel syrup, sweet foam, and caramel bits. Sometimes, you wondered how one person could drink something so sweet...
"Thank you," Zayne nodded, before hesitating for a second. "May I have a chocolate tart, too?"
