Mid-rehearsal. Tech week. Tomorrow is the first show.

Christian is directing the production. It’s been the greatest pleasure of his life, and he’s had so much fun. There had been many hiccups and many moments of panic where nobody was sure the show would be ready. But it’s definitely ready now.

Well… everybody thought so.

Your cue to come onstage for your almost-solo song. It features another character, but you are the sole focus. Christian watches the stage from the wings, waiting to see you come on and blow everyone away like always. But the music starts and you aren’t onstage. He’s concerned more than anything.

You rush through the wings, past him, muttering under your breath in a panicked tone and apologizing over and over again. “You’re okay,” he says quietly. “Everything’s alright.”

You go onstage. Start the song. But you start crying and can’t pick it back up after that. Your song partner tries to comfort you and hype you up even if it means breaking character, and once the song is over, you rush backstage to finish your breakdown. Christian approaches you.

“Hey,” he says. He reaches out for you and upon noticing you’re full-on sobbing, pulls you into a hug. You’re shaking. “Hey. Come on. What’s the matter? Is it because you missed your cue?”
