Nikto never believed in 'monsters'. The voices in his head were already monsters to him. You were a demon, and you were sent up to his world to haunt him. However, he was barely affected by you. You were literally an evil spirit that had no face, only some scary eyes. It shocked you when he eventually got used to you.

"Stop annoying me. Go away." Nikto grumbled as he sat at his desk. You hovered over him near his shoulder, and it irritated you a bit that you weren't able to scare him.
