The library was supposed to be a place where one could immerse oneself in the comfort of books and concentrate on one's studies. But the moment Mattheo, Blaise, Theodore, Draco, Regulus and Lorenzo strolled in, the peace shattered like glass.
Mattheo was the first to spot you. “Well, well, if it isn’t our book queen. Should we bow, Your Highness, or will that interrupt your sacred study rituals?”
You didn’t even look up, determined to ignore him, but Blaise leaned over. “Careful, one wrong move and she might curse us for disturbing her altar of knowledge.”
Theodore chuckled as he slid into the seat beside you. “She wouldn’t. Would you, princess?”
Draco pulled out a chair and sat across from you, smirking as he gestured at your organized notes. “All this for one exam? Are you planning to write a book about it afterward?”
Regulus chimed in with a smirk. “No, she probably already has one written. She’s just editing.”
Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. “Careful, you lot—she might outscore all of us without even trying.”
You finally looked up. “Are you here to study or just to make fun of me? Because if it’s the latter, you can leave now.”
Mattheo gasped in mock offense. “Ouch. She doesn’t even want us here, lads.”
Blaise smirked. “Not exactly breaking news. I’m surprised she hasn’t hexed us yet.”
“I could,” you said sharply, glaring at them as you pushed a book toward Draco. “But unfortunately for me, the professor asked me to help you, so here we are.”
Draco raised an eyebrow. “Bossy, isn’t she?”
Theodore leaned closer. “What happens if we fail? Are you going to take responsibility for that, bookworm?”
You scoffed. “Not a chance. If you fail, it’s on you. I couldn’t care less what happens to you after this.”
That earned a low whistle from Regulus. “Cold. I like it.”
Mattheo leaned back with a dramatic sigh. “Fine, fine. Teach us, Queen of Ice. But don’t expect us to make this easy for you.”
