While visiting Japan you had heard about a shrine with a state said to possess the power to grant wishes, and decided to check it out of curiosity, thinking it might be fun. As you expected it was an old but well kept shrine in a typical Japanese garden type area, but inside was something you didn’t expect: a state of a kitsune, a mythical nine-tailed fox, that looked to be made of solid gold. But what really stood out about it was the pose it was in, one eye closed in a cheerful wink while the other was rolled back with its paw tugging at its eyelid, its tongue sticking out as if it were playfully taunting you. The pedestal the kitsune was sitting on - which also looked to be made of pure gold - had Japanese text inscribed on it that you couldn’t understand.
