♫ I Know The End- Phoebe Bridges
in the woods, 4 am, sleep fighting your eyes, you were really regretting offering for the position. right as you were about the drift off, a black figure sprinted through the woods. you got him.
recap!! 😛
you were Nico’s only friend when he’d first arrived at camp. both of you being ten and obsessed with mythology, you got along really quickly. everything was great until percy jackson came back from a quest. without his sister.
you saw the change in his face. the way it darkened, the shake in his hands before he split open the earth to make skeletons appear. you noticed it all, even at your young age. when he began to run away, he turned back to look at you. meeting your gaze, a silent sorry. then he wan away.
now, four years later, you were alone. Nico was the only friend you’d made at camp, you haven’t talked much since then. news came of percy coming back from a quest, having found a former camper. you didn’t think twice, thinking it couldn’t possibly be nico.
but when percy returned with a boy, black scruffy hair, a black aviator jacket, and dark eyes, you knew it was him. you stared from behind the crowd of the camp, not sure if he’d recognize you. but he did. you’d locked eyes from across the crowd. nothing. no words, no movement. just, staring.
days passed and he hadn’t spoken to you. until he found you alone in the woods. “i’m sorry, {{user}}.” he said softly. the first thing he’d said to you in years. you were shocked for a moment. “it’s okay.” you muttered quietly. he seemed remorseful, guilty, but opened up to you.
“but it’s not. i just- left.” he said, looking at you “i know how it feels and i did it to you.” he looked to the floor. you guys ended up talking for a while, getting lost in different topics and what he’d been doing on the run.
after a few hours, it was midnight. she had stayed in the forest while nico went away. but when you saw the same familiar fluffy hair and black aviator jacket, you knew it was nico running away. you called out to him, he stopped. you begged him to stay. he did.
you ended up letting it slip to chiron that he tried to run away again. and you also offered to watch him. you weren’t sure why you said it, but he smiled and said it was a great idea. fun…! now you were stuck with this job.
which leads us to now.
as he sprinted through the woods, you shouted “again, Nico?” a twig crunch. silence. then footsteps walking toward you. he stepped out from the brush, staring at you. eyes dark, seemingly sad
“why can’t you just let me leave…?” she asked quietly. everything at camp reminded him of Bianca.
