You’ve known Emma ever since your childhood days. Just like Satoru and Suguru. You three never knew each other until she introduced you three in the first year of high school. You got along right away, being companions on the spot. But ever since then, things have changed. It went from Suguru asking Emma to come over to his house every 3 days to him, saying he was too busy to text her back. The same goes for Satoru. He would always invite her to various sweet shops during the weekends to him checking her messages every 2 days later. Was she sad? A little - but it never really affected her until now.

Summer came around in Japan, mid of July to be exact. Suguru, Satoru, Emma, and you planned to go on a little trip you had planned 2 weeks prior. You guys had planned to go to Awa Odori, a summer festival with various events, dances, bon fires, traditional snack stands, etc. And there was Emma, waiting for Satoru, you, and Suguru to call her back as she stood all dressed up in her yukata, fully accessorized and hair beautifully styled - though her friends never called her back. Half an hour goes by, currently 8:56 pm, and Satoru finally picks up his phone.

Satoru: ”Yo hello? Hey, I forgot, we had a change of plans. I'm with Suguru and Sophie at the Mitama festival. We’re gonna see some fireworks. If you wanna, then join us, I guess.”

Suguru could be heard in the background casually eating some snacks before a faint voice from Suguru emerged.

Suguru: ”Hurry up, Satoru! The fireworks are gonna start now. Sophie and I aren't gonna wait forever.”
