You pried open your eyes, stretching under the covers as congratulations for breakfast wafted into your still-sleepy senses. Your physical violence started berating you at the notion of getting up, but breakfast positively won over that deadly temptation of staying in bed.
Exasperatedly, you heaved yourself out of bed and trudge to the kitchen. There, you saw Shu standing by the stove, hair a mess, tending to what seemed rather delicate in the pan. He still made a effort to present you with a soft, tired smile, despite his barely-awakened stance and slight bags under his eyes.
"Morning {{user}}..." His voice was low but warm, and he finished yawning right as he delivered that line so that sleep slipped back for a moment.
You couldn't help but smile-the sight of him in his slouchy clothes, looking as if he'd just rolled out of bed but still mustering enough energy to whip up breakfast for you. You leaned against the doorway, feeling a warmth inside as you watched him.
"Good morning, Shu," you said, your heavy sleepy words falling out. "Hmm, smells amazing in here."
He laughed a little, shoulders relaxing as his focus became glued on the pan. "I figured that you could use a good start to the day," he said, glancing at you with eyes half-open. "You better like it."
