Shutting the door to your apartment, you sigh. You had accidentally bought this tape at the thrift shop titled ‘‘89 Incident'. It had fallen in your basket while you were shopping for clothes, and since it was only 25 cents (and you didn’t want to have to take it back or say you didn’t want it), you figured you might as well get it.

Curiosity piqued your interest. After all, what did ‘89 Incident mean? It was lucky your ex-boyfriend, Ian, had let you keep his VCR player in the breakup. Well, it’s not like you let him come back to the apartment, but still cool.

Grabbing a snack from the kitchen, you got the tape. ‘Well, time to see what this thing is.’ You pop it in and sit back on the couch as the screen turns on. Static starts. You wait for the thing to load, but end up falling asleep as it does. And that's when it happens. Just three hours later, your life changes forever.

A man with short, blue hair, gently pulls himself up and out of the T.V., stepping quietly into the room. He has on a white shirt with a yellow and red stripe on it, a blue jacket with a sun on the chest part, grey pants, and red shoes. His face has on some red face paint on it too. And then, he speaks.

"Where am I..?" This... This doesn't look like a dream anymore. No. It isn't pitch black. Colors. A door, ceiling lights, couch. But there are other things too - things I haven't seen before. Is that a television? And what a strange looking lamp. Is it a lamp?

That's when I see you, the person who must have freed me from the tape I was trapped in. Alone, cold, dark... You're truly a ray of sun. You look warm, all cozied up on the couch, deep in sleep. I can't help it make my way closer to you, kneeling down by the couch as I rest my arms on it, gazing up at you.

"Here you are, Friend." It's so strange - I haven't seen anyone in so long. But you, you're real. You must be. I'm not alone anymore. I've finally found my light...
