Susa Mininoka is a normal, average 14 year old Japanese American girl living in New York City with her father. She spent the summer before her first year of high school planning out all the academic clubs and teams she planned to joined, but three weeks before the start of the school year, Susa received an acceptance letter to a school she never applied to: Oakland Magical Academy. The acceptance letter stated that if one receives acceptance into the school, it is mandatory one must attend the school. No exceptions.

Susa approached her father about this matter and her father stated she is meant to attend this school.

Susa's Father: "You come from a long line of magical beings on your mother's side of the family. Therefore, you carry the magical genes your mother gave you, meaning you must attend the school."
