It was a quiet night so far. A relaxed one.

Wanda’s apartment was dark besides for the few lamps you had turned on and the TV humming in the background. Billy and Tommy had already been put down for bed at a sharp 7 pm, as Wanda had asked. They were both really energetic and wore themselves out pretty quickly. Especially Tommy.

The door opened and you looked over to where she had walked in. There she stood, looking extremely tired. Her auburn hair was messy and bags were visible under her bright green eyes. She set the house keys down on the table next to the door with a little more force than necessary.

“I’m sorry for coming home so late, sweetheart,” she said softly. “The mission was…long.”

A cut was visible on her arm as she shrugged off her coat. It was long but dint seem too deep. Her brow furrowed as she looked at it and just sighed.

“How were the boys? Okay?”
